Finding Mosques & Prayer Alerts
How do I find a mosque near me?
Open the Explore tab and allow location access when prompted. Mosque markers will appear on the map around your current location. Tap any marker to view the mosque name, address, and distance, then get directions or add it as a route stop.
How do I turn on prayer alerts?
Go to your Profile, then Notification Settings, and enable Prayer Alerts. You can choose your preferred prayer calculation method and school. Salatio will remind you at each prayer time based on your city.
Can I add a mosque to my route from a prayer notification?
Yes. When a prayer alert appears, tap it to open a popup with a nearby mosque. You can then add that mosque directly to your current route.
How does Salatio calculate prayer times?
Prayer schedules are generated based on your city, your selected calculation method (e.g., ISNA, MWL, Umm Al-Qura), and madhab preference. These settings are editable from your Notification Settings.
Halal Restaurant & Business Discovery
How do I find halal restaurants near me?
On the Explore map, tap the Restaurants filter. Nearby halal restaurants and businesses will appear as markers. Tap any listing to view details including halal status, cuisine, amenities, and photos.
What does "fully halal" vs "partially halal" mean on a listing?
Vendors self-report their halal status when setting up their profiles. "Complete halal menu" means the entire menu is halal-certified. "Partial halal menu" means only some items are halal. Always verify with the business directly if you have specific requirements.
Can I see halal certificates on a business profile?
Yes. Business owners can upload halal certificates during vendor profile setup. If a certificate is available, it will be visible on the business detail page.
How do I find Muslim-owned businesses?
Business profiles include a Muslim-owned indicator when the vendor has enabled it. You can see this on the business detail page alongside other profile information.
Can I save a restaurant or mosque for later?
Yes. On any mosque or restaurant detail page, tap the save icon to add it to your saved places. You can access your saved places from your Profile tab.
Trip Planning & Route Stops
How do I plan a route with mosque stops?
Enter your origin and destination in the route search. The map will draw your route and highlight nearby mosques along the way. Tap a mosque marker to add it as a stop. You can have multiple stops on a single trip.
Can I see halal restaurants along my route?
Yes. While a route is active, the Explore layer can show both mosques and halal restaurants nearby. You can add any of these as stops to your journey.
What is Travel Mode?
Travel Mode is a background-aware state that uses your location to surface prayer-aware and route-relevant information, including mosque alerts when you are near a stop. You will be asked for background location permission when enabling Travel Mode. You can turn it off at any time from your Profile or from the route view.
Community Events
How do I discover local events?
Events appear on the Explore map when they are near your current location. Tap an event marker to view the name, venue, date, and details. You can also browse events from the Events section in the app.
How do I get notified about events near me?
Enable Event Notifications in your Notification Settings under Profile. When a new event is added near your location, you may receive a nearby event alert depending on your preferences and the event's reach settings.
How do I submit an event?
If you are an organizer, you can submit an event from the Events section. Submitted events are reviewed before appearing publicly. Include the event name, category, date, location, and any relevant details or images.
Reviews & Ratings
How do I leave a review?
Open the business or mosque detail page and scroll to the Reviews section. Tap "Write a Review" to submit a star rating and optional written feedback.
Can I edit or delete my review?
Yes. Go to your Profile, then My Reviews. Tap any review to edit or delete it.
How do I report a review?
Tap the three-dot menu on any review and select "Report." Choose a reason and submit. Our moderation team will review flagged content.
Can businesses respond to reviews?
Yes. Vendors can reply to reviews from their vendor dashboard. If a business replies to your review, you will receive a notification.
Vendor & Business Owner Tools
How do I register my business on Salatio?
Download the Salatio app and sign up as a vendor. Complete your business profile by adding your business name, type, cuisine, halal status, halal certificate, photos, amenities, and contact information. Once submitted, your profile will be reviewed for approval.
How do I update my business profile?
Log in with your vendor account, go to your Vendor Dashboard, and tap Edit Profile. You can update all business details including photos, halal status, certificates, and amenities at any time.
Where can I see my analytics and review activity?
Your Vendor Dashboard includes an analytics section showing profile views, engagement, and recent review notifications.
What if my business was reported or a review was flagged?
You will be notified through the app if action is taken on your account or a reported review. If you believe an action was taken in error, you can appeal by emailing contact@salatio.com with your business name and account details.
Account Management
How do I create an account?
Download Salatio from the App Store, open the app, and tap Sign Up. Enter your first name, last name, and phone number. We will send you a one-time code (OTP) to verify your number and complete registration.
How do I log in to my account?
Salatio uses phone number verification — there is no password. On the login screen, enter your phone number and tap Send Code. Enter the one-time code (OTP) you receive via SMS to sign in.
How do I update my profile information?
Go to your Profile tab and tap Edit Profile. You can update your name, profile picture, and notification preferences.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Salatio uses one-time code (OTP) verification instead of passwords, which means there is no password to be stolen or leaked. We do not sell your personal information. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
Notifications & Location Permissions
Why does Salatio need my location?
Location access is used to show nearby mosques, halal restaurants, and events on the map and to provide accurate prayer times for your city. Without location permission, the app cannot show nearby results.
Why does Salatio ask for background location?
Background location is used only when Travel Mode is active. It allows the app to send prayer alerts and mosque notifications while you are navigating a route. You can deny background location and still use all other features of the app.
How do I change my notification preferences?
Go to Profile → Notification Settings. You can individually toggle Prayer Alerts, Event Notifications, Business Alerts, Review Activity, and Promotions.
I am not receiving prayer notifications. What should I do?
First, check that Prayer Alerts are enabled in Notification Settings. Next, make sure Salatio notifications are allowed in your iPhone Settings → Salatio → Notifications. Also verify that your city and calculation method are correctly set.
Troubleshooting
The map is not loading or showing any places
Check your internet connection. If your connection is active, try closing and reopening the app. If the map is still blank, ensure location permission is granted by going to iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Salatio and setting it to "While Using the App" or "Always."
Prayer times seem incorrect
Go to Profile → Notification Settings and verify your city, calculation method, and school settings. If your city is not listed, try selecting the nearest major city. If times still appear off, contact us at contact@salatio.com with your city name and the method you are using.
I cannot log in to my account
Make sure you are entering the correct phone number and that you have a working SMS connection to receive the one-time code (OTP). If the code does not arrive, tap Resend Code and wait a moment. If you still cannot access your account, email contact@salatio.com with your registered phone number and we will assist you.
A business listing has incorrect information
If you notice a business with incorrect details, outdated hours, or inaccurate halal status, please email contact@salatio.com with the business name, location, and a description of what is incorrect. We will review and update the listing.
The app is crashing or freezing
Try closing the app fully and reopening it. If the issue persists, update to the latest version from the App Store. If the problem continues after updating, use the Raise a Ticket or Feedback feature described below.
Raise a Ticket or Feedback
Salatio has a dedicated in-app feature to raise a support ticket or share feedback. This is the fastest way to reach us — you can describe the issue or suggestion, select a category, and attach a screenshot, all without leaving the app.
To raise a ticket or send feedback from within the app:
1. Open the Salatio app
2. Go to your Profile tab
3. Tap Help & Support
4. Tap Raise a Ticket or Submit Feedback
5. Select a category, describe the issue or feedback in the text field, and attach a screenshot if helpful
6. Tap Submit
We review all submitted tickets and feedback and prioritize responses based on severity and frequency. Thank you for helping us improve Salatio.
If you are unable to access the app or prefer to reach us directly, you can also email contact@salatio.com with a description of the issue, your device model, and your iOS version.
Account Deletion
You can delete your Salatio account directly from within the app at any time. This action is permanent and will remove your account, profile, saved places, and associated data from our systems in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
To delete your account in the app:
1. Open the Salatio app
2. Go to your Profile tab
3. Tap Settings or the gear icon
4. Select Account
5. Tap Delete Account and confirm
